New features in version 2.0 include the programs ability to auto-configure the correct values for 95 percent of your computers applications, system, and LAN settings; an intuitive graphical interface that makes it easy to fine-tune Outposts settings; and Windows Start-Up processing that ensures that Outpost is running and protecting your system before any malicious program can be loaded.

In addition, version 2.0 also offers enhanced firewall protection that has earned Outpost top honors in independent leak tests component-level application monitoring that makes it impossible for rogue viruses to be injected into trusted applications; a 70 percent reduction in CPU usage and a 40 percent reduction in memory usage; and full support for new Windows XP features including Internet Connection Sharing, Remote Desktop, and Fast User Switching.

Outpost uses a myriad of protection measures to ensure that your system is secure. Its system- and application-level filtering blocks all attempts to steal your data. The program performs TCP, UDP, and ICMP-level filtering, ensuring that all hacker intrusions will be identified and stopped before they can damage your system. Outpost supports comprehensive port scanning detection. It can place your computer into stealth mode, making it nearly impossible for hackers to find you. Outpost guards your email against dangerous attachments and worms.

Outpost makes it easy to control your system. It monitors your PCs network activity, and uses a new database-driven logging system to record every connection and event. Outposts content filtering gives parents the power to protect their children from illegal or inappropriate web sites. The program supports password protection and individual settings for multiple users. Its easy to define trusted IP addresses.

Outpost protects your privacy by preventing leaks from your computer, blocking invasions into your computer, and concealing your Internet surfing history. The program can be set to block banner ads (including Flash ads) and pop-up windows, as well as cookies, ActiveX, Java applets, Javascripts, and Visual Basic scripts.

The intuitive interface makes it easy to configure Outpost for each user.
