How to upgrade to windows 7 or windows 8 from windows XP


    Hello everybody !
     Today, I am very happy to tell to everybody an important problem about windows xp - the most popular operating system in the world. But that is changing to windows 7 and windows 8. So upgrading to windows 7 and windows 8 is very important.
     I will give you the instruction to do this step by step: Firstly, upgrade to windows 7.

Step 1 : Make sure that your programs and devices will work with Windows 7


Download and install Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor
Follow the steps below to download the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.
 1.   Go to My project to download Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor
2.   Click Download the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor which is compatible with your computer (32bit or 64bit).
3.   Click Download, and then save the installation file to your PC.
4.   Double-click the installation file saved to your PC.
If youre asked to install .NET 2.0
Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor requires .NET Framework 2.0. If your computer doesnt have it installed, follow these steps. If youre not asked to install .NET 2.0, you can skip this and proceed to step 5.
 1.  Click Yes.
 2.  Click Next.
 3. If you agree to the license terms, click Install.
  4. Click Finish.
 5.   If you agree to the license terms, click Install.
 6.   Click Close.
 If you see a pre-selected check box, clicking Close will run Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.
          Run Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor
 1.   If Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor isnt already running, double-click the Windows 7 Upgrade
Advisor shortcut on your PCs desktop.
 2.   In the security warning dialog box, click Yes.
 3.   Click Start check. The Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor will scan your PCs hardware, devices, and installed software. This might take a few minutes. When finished, it will provide you with a compatibility report that you can print or save for your reference.
 4.   Read the report carefully, and make note of any issues that the Upgrade Advisor finds and what the recommended steps are to fix these issues.
 5.   If you want to save the report and print or refer to it later, click Save Report, type a name in the File Name box, and then click Save.
 6.   Click Close.
      You can scan your PC more than once. We recommend running the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor again after taking any of the recommended steps or making any changes to your PCs hardware, devices, or installed software before upgrading to Windows 7. Be sure to save your updated report.

Step 2: Moving files and settings, and gatheringyour program discs
  
     I think you should use Windows Easy Transfer, a free download, to  help you move your files and settings to another location before you install Windows 7. Then, you can use Windows Easy Transfer again to move your files and settings back to your PC after Windows installation is completed.
     If you dont use Windows Easy Transfer, youll need to copy your files manually to an external location, such as CDs, DVDs, an external hard disk, or a USB flash drive before installing Windows 7, and then move them back after Windows installation is completed.

Download and install Windows Easy Transfer
 1.   Download Windows Easy Transfer from the My project. If youre running a 32-bit version of Windows XP, under For Windows XP, click Download 32-bit. If youre running a 64-bit version of Windows XP, click Download 64-bit.
 2.   On the Microsoft Download Center webpage, click Download, and then click Run.
 3.   In the Security Warning dialog box, click Run.
 4.   In the Software Update Installation Wizard, click Next.
 5.   If you agree to the license terms, select I Agree, and then click Next.
 6.   After installation is complete, click Finish.
 Open and run Windows Easy Transfer to save your files and settings
 1.   Make sure your external hard disk or other storage device is connected to your computer.
 2.   Click Start, click All Programs, and then click Windows Easy Transfer for Windows 7.
 3.   Click Next.
 4.   Select An external hard disk or USB flash drive.
 5.   Click This is my old computer, and then wait while Windows Easy Transfer scans the computer.
 6.   Clear the check boxes next to any user accounts that you dont want to transfer data from, and then click Next.
 7.   Enter and retype a password, and then write it down and keep it in a safe place; or leave the boxes blank, and then click Save.
 8.   Browse to the external hard disk or other storage device where you want to save your Easy
Transfer file, and then click Save.

Step 3: Install Windows 7 directly on windows xp partition (C partition) with Custom option.

 Step 4: Moving your files and settings back to your computer using windows easy transfer.
Click the Start button and type to search windows easy transfer and click transfer.

Since Windows server 2012 r2 released, a lot of corporation canÕt wait to experiencing Windows server 2012 R2 new powerful function. But if we could upgrade Windows system that server is running to Windows server 2012 R2, it would be better. However, even though Windows server 2012 R2 is powerful than previous Windows server system, not all of the previous Windows system could be upgraded to server 2012 r2 with in-place upgrade .

So in this passage, we mainly talks about how to upgrade domain controller to Windows server 2012 r2 with in-place upgrade?

Among previous Windows server system, only Windows server 2008 64 or Windows server 2008 R2 could be upgraded to Windows server 2012 R2. If domain controller is running with Windows server 2003 or Windows server 2003 r2, it wonÕt be upgraded. So if you want to replace them with server 2012 r2, please install Windows server 2012 r2 domain controller in domain first, and then delete domain controller installed with Windows server 2003.

  4. Type in server installation key and click ÒNextÓ.
  5. Choose server version and click ÒNextÓ.
  6. Accept license terms and click ÒNextÓ.
  7. Choose ÒUpgrade InstallÓ.
  8. After a prerequisite for inspection, click ÒNextÓ.
  9. Wait for Installation upgrade completes, access new Windows server 2012 R2 to have a look.

How to Upgrade to iOS 8 without Losing Data


Under normal circumstances, after upgrading iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch to iOS new version, such as iOS 8, data on iOS device would be lost. This is not what we want really.

So which measures can we take to prevent data loss after iOS upgrade?
  • Measure 1: Create a iTunes backup for iOS device
  • Measure 2: Make a iCloud backup for iOS device

Measure 1: Create a iTunes backup for iOS device


Once you connect your iOS device to computer installed with iTunes, before iOS upgrade, you will have two choices to back up data on iOS data.

Choice 1: Back up iOS data manually with iTunes
  1. Open iTunes, and your iOS device (e.g. iPhone) is shown on the right bottom side of iTunes interface.
  2. Click it and go to its main interface.
  3. Under Summaryoption, click Back Up Now in Backups part.

Then back up message and progress can be seen at the top of iTunes window. The iTunes backup file is usually saved in these folders. You can go to check them.
  • Windows 7: C:UsersisunshareAppDataRoamingApple ComputerMobileSyncBackup
  • Windows 8/8.1: Users>USERNAME>AppData>Roaming>Apple Computer>MobileSync>Backup
  • Windows XP: C:Documents and SettingsuserApplication DataApple ComputerMobileSyncBackup

Choice 2: Sync your iOS device to iTunes automatically once connected

If you would like to back up iOS device like this, you should set your iOS device automatically synced to iTunes when iOS device is connected to computer. 

The iTunes backup also saved in the same location as manually back up iOS device with iTunes.


Measure 2: Make a iCloud backup for iOS device


Before you back up your iOS device data to iCloud, please make sure iCloud Backup is turned on , and Wi-Fi and Apple ID are available. Your iOS device is not locked because of passcode forgot.

Navigate to Settings - iCloud - Restore & Backup - Back Up Now, while you have signed to iCloud with Apple ID. If not, sign in to iCloud when you are prompted.


With backup in hand after iOS upgrade, if we want the previous data on iOS device are still on it now, we have to restore iOS device data from backup.

However, how can we restore iOS device data after iOS upgrade from backup?
  1. Restore iOS from iTunes backup or iCloud backup is OK.
  2. But are there any other more effective ways to recover iOS data?
    Surely there are. For example, iOS Data Genius gives users privileges to scan iTunes backup file first to see what are saved in it, so users can choose what they want to recover, or recover all the data from iTunes backup file. This way prevents iOS device from restoring from wrong iTunes backup file and saves time.

With the Microsoft announcement about stopping support Windows XP since April 8 in 2014, Windows XP users have to make hard decisions. Go on running Windows XP, turn to use Linux or upgrade to Windows new operational system? According to the survey, there are still many people choose to use Windows XP in later few years. The problems Windows XP users need to mention have introduced in where to go if without support for Windows XP.

For computer users who have been accustomed to using Windows XP in previous few years, suddenly turn to run Linux instead of Windows XP is hard to adapt. Believe more and more people would choose to upgrade Windows XP to new operational system, such as Windows 7 and Windows 8, except those persons who are obsessed with Windows XP.


Now, all PC computers and laptops can be upgraded to Windows 7/8. So now letÕs discuss the problems necessary to be thought about during choosing which Windows system instead of Windows XP.

First, consider computer hardware configurations.


Does Windows XP computer hardware configuration satisfy the conditions to upgrade to Windows 7 or Windows 8?

ThatÕs no doubt that Windows 7 and newer Windows systems need more advanced hardware configuration compared to Windows XP. If you want to upgrade Windows operational system to Windows 7, computer hardware configuration has to be mainstream configuration gotten after 2006.

Detailed configurations:
  • CPU: 1GHz or above; double kernel CPU;
  • Memory: 1G or above (2G and above better)
  • Disk: 16 G and above, suggest leave 100G and above and disk utilization had better not be higher than 75%.
  • Graphic Card: WDDM driver available for DirectX 9
  • Driver: Many OEM have not prepared drivers for new operational system in old device. Old device would affect use and stability of new Windows operating systems.

Windows 8/8.1 is not designed to run in Windows XP old computer. So if you prepare to upgrade to Windows 8, suggest run Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant to check whether old computer has achieve the lowest demand.

Second, consider choosing Windows system according to ease-of-use


After making sure computer hardware configuration, we should consider to select which operational system according to its ease-of-use. On similarity, Windows 7 is more similar to Windows XP on interface. It would be easy to know Windows 7 well more quickly than Windows 8. But it would take more time and disk to install nearly about 100 patches.


And Windows 8/8.1, there have been so many changes on interface. Computer users have to spend more time to be familiar with it. Compared with Windows 7, Windows 8 doesnÕt need to install many patches and Windows system boots more quickly. 

Third, choose 32-bit or 64-bit Windows operating system

 
Now 64-bit operational system has become the trend, because most of 32-bit programs could run successfully in 64-bit operating systems, but 64-bit programs are hardly to run in 32-bit Windows systems. At the same time, 64-bit Windows system would occupy more memory and disk. So according to computer memory and disk, choose appropriate Windows operational system. Try hard to choose 64-bit operating system.

At last letÕs see how new Windows operational system would influence our computers after Windows 7 or Windows 8 installation.

Whether operating system would influence the programs running in previous Windows system?

This is the problem we always worry about after Windows system upgrade. CD-ROM or USB flash drive is needed to fully install Windows 7/8/8.1 in Windows XP old computer. Therefore, all the usersÕ files and programs previously installed on this computer could not be moved automatically. Computer users have to reinstall all programs new version manually applying to Windows 7/8, and copy user files to new operational system.
